FundaWay is a South African learner-support platform designed to help Grade 8–12 learners and post-school users make better education and career decisions. It combines study support, career exploration, university planning, funding guidance, original learning guides and learner-community tools.
Current organisational stage: FundaWay is a founder-led learner-support initiative operated from Atok, Limpopo. It does not claim to be a university, school, government department, registered professional body or bursary provider.
FundaWay aims to fill the information and exposure gaps that many high-school learners experience, especially when they do not have immediate access to a career counsellor, tutor, prospectus, funding adviser or industry role model. The platform explains options in plain language, provides useful checklists and encourages learners to verify important information with official providers.
This includes introducing learners to major South African sectors they may not encounter at school. Mining is an important example: it has a significant place in the country’s economy and connects to careers in engineering, geology, surveying, safety, environmental management, trades, technology and many other fields. FundaWay helps learners see these pathways early enough to make informed subject and study decisions.
FundaWay is intended to support—not replace—teachers, parents, guardians, career advisers, universities, colleges, bursary providers, employers or official government information.
FundaWay was founded by Ratsoma Kabelo and Kupa Doctor in Atok, Limpopo. As university students, they understand many of the decisions, information gaps and application challenges learners face. They created FundaWay to make trustworthy study, career and funding guidance easier for South African learners to find and understand.

As a Development Leader, he helps shape FundaWay’s learner programmes, mining-career guidance, research and organisational growth. He contributes student experience and researched information and is not presented as a qualified mining professional.

Kupa is a third-year Electrical Engineering student at Tshwane University of Technology. As a Development Leader, he helps shape FundaWay’s organisational direction, digital platform, learning tools and learner-support programmes. He contributes student experience and technical product development and is not presented as a professionally registered engineer.
